Tarifa is about 2000 km from Zurich and Paris, 3500 km from Berlin and 1000 km from Barcelona. The roads network in Spain is up to normal European Standards and is constantly improving. Toll fees are also reasonable (about ¤60 Barcelona-Tarifa).

To get to Tarifa from Malaga follow directions for Algeciras/Cadiz. Once in Algeciras follow signs to Cadiz, which is about 180 km away, and having travelled 21 km from Algeciras you will arrive at Tarifa.

There are 140 km between Malaga and Algeciras and the road gets quite dangerous after Algeciras, especially when it rains. We advise you to be cautious on this slippery and winding road, and not to be distracted by the impressive views of Africa across the Gibraltar Strait.

The toll from Malaga to Tarifa is between ¤5 and ¤10, depending on the season. It takes 20 min longer if you use the older roads (follow the N340) without paying. During rush hour, in high season, it comes recommended to pay the motorway fees, because you could be caught for some time in traffic.
