Our town is located in the Cadiz province, on the most southern point of the European Continent, only 14 km from Morocco.

This most southern point is called La Punta de Tarifa and is situated on the isle, Isla de las Palomas, that has been connected to the city by means of a road that facilitates access to the lighthouse.

This is why we are considered the point of union between two Continents and two Cultures, namely the African and the European.

Location
The extreme point, delimits the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, both of which interlace on our very same city's coast.

The municipality's boundaries extend over 414'56km², which makes it the most extensive municipality in the Campo de Gibraltar. It has an estimated population of more than 15.000 registered inhabitants (without mentioning temporary citizens).

The eastern limits reach the municipality of Algeciras, Los Barrios. Its northeastern limits reach Medina Sidonia, and has Vejer de la Frontera and Barbate due north.
