Reserve your excursion to Morocco and discover Tangier in any season of the year, departures from Tarifa. Fast-Ferry, guided visits to the Hercules Grottos and lunch are all included.

Few cities are as evocative as Tangier. Its name carries mythic resonance from painters (Matisse, Delacroix, Francis Bacon), writers (Tennessee Williams, Samuel Beckett, Truman Capote or Paul Bowles), multimillionaires (Barbara Hutton, Malcolm Forbes) or musicians like Igor Stravinski, who all fell in love with this city and made it world famous.

On your arrival in Tangier, a guide will welcome you to start the city tour by bus. Enjoy views of the Hercules Grottos, the place where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet. Take photos and ride camels (optional). Then you will visit the Kasbah with a stop at the Sultan´s Palace (entrance optional). You will be able to see the snake charmer and experience wonderful views of the Straits of Gibraltar. We continue our journey through the Medina passing Mandubia Gardens. If you’re feeling hungry and you wish to taste the typical Moroccan cuisine (harira, cous-cous, pinchito moruno, green tea, and desserts) remember that lunch is included. Afterwards you will have time (70 min aprox) to shop for Moroccan souvenirs, until the time your guide has indicated for the transfer back to the port for your return to Tarifa.

One of the main areas, and a must-visit in Tangier, is the Medina. It´s what we know as the historical centre of the city, a labryinth of alleys where the colours and smells will transport you to another era. The Medina is surrounded by a 15th century wall, a Portuguese fort which served as protection. Just a 10 minute walk from the Medina you will find the "Gran Café de Paris" famous for its literary get-togethers. A place brimming with history where you can stop and have a coffee.

On the way back to the Medina, stop at the "Grand Socco", a square surrounded by palm trees which was originally a large market and is one of the entry ways to the Medina. Barely a four minute walk away is the American Legation Museum, a five floor mansion, which was the first American building and only National Historical monument on foreign soil. The museum opens Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m til 3:00 p.m. Entry is just 20 Dirhams.

Continuing to wander along the alleys of the Medina, you can stop at the Kasbah Palace, ancient palace of Sultan Dae El Makhzen, and which today is the Mediterranean cultures museum. An ideal place to get to know the area´s history, from Pre-historic times til the 19th century. Open from 10:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m, it closes on Tuesdays and costs two Euros to get in.

If after all these visits you still have time to have a mint tea, we recommend "Café Hafa", well-known and frequented by locals. The sea views are stunning.
